Equistar Alathon® M4661 High Density Polyethylene
Subcategory: Thermoplastic; HDPE; Polymer; Equistar High Density Polyethylene
Key Words: HDPE
Material Notes: Applications ALATHON M 4661, formerly known as LYHD 060, exhibits excellent impact, warp and environmental stress crack resistance. Typical applications are closures, institutional seating and consumer durables. Through precise control of the molecular weight distribution M 4661 shows enhanced processability for a product with this melt index.
Certification M 4661 meets the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration regulation, 21 CFR 177.1520. This regulation allows the use of this olefin polymer in "...articles or components of articles intended for use in contact with food..." Specific limitations or conditions of use may apply. Contact your Equistar polyethylene sales representative for more information.
Processing Techniques Specific recommendations for processing M 4661 can only be made when the processing conditions, equipment and end use are known. For further suggestions, please contact your Equistar sales representative.
