Fibre Glast 78 Tooling Gel Coat
Subcategory: Thermoset
Material Notes: Description:
#78 is an abrasion resistant gel coat for making molds where gloss retention is paramount. The life of an otherwise good polyester mold may be extended considerably by the use of tooling gel coat. Best results can be achieved using film thickness of 20-25 mils, #1040 Hi-Gloss Additive can be further added to upgrade the gloss. #78 Tooling Gel Coat is formulated specifically for mold making. This precision-formulated gel coat utilizes selected resins that exhibit high heat distortion to withstand the repeated moldings of FRP laminates. This product does not contain lead. It provides a high gloss and hard durable surface. This tooling gel coat is formulated ready-to-spray after the addition of the proper amount of an appropriate methyl ethyl ketone peroxide catalyst. It is formulated to be low in hide so that imperfections can be easily spotted.
