GE Silicones RTV658 Low Volatile Silicone Adhesive Sealant, White, Mixed
Subcategory: Silicone; Thermoset; Polymer
Close Analogs: GE Silicones became a part of Momentive Performance Materials in 2006.
Material Notes: RTV658 low volatile silicone adhesive sealant is a two component, thixotropic heat-curing silicone adhesive sealant that has a very long catalyzed work life at room temperature, but cures very quickly at elevated temperatures to a durable silicone rubber. It has a very high application rate to facilitate high volume robotic dispensing, but has sufficient thixotropy to avoid `sagging` in the uncured state. RTV658 low volatile silicone adhesive sealant has been found useful for applications sensitive to the potential for silicone volatility. It achieves extremely low volatile and extractable levels without the need for a post-cure bake. Offering primerless adhesion to a wide range of substrates, it has been found useful for many types of applications, including formed-in-place gasketing. Mechanical properties for specimen cured 1 hour at 150°C, mixed 10:1.. Key Performance Properties: - Low volatile and extractable levels
- Long catalyzed pot-life at room temperature
- Very fast cure at elevated temperatures
- Primerless adhesion to many types of substrates
- Excellent dielectric properties
- Outstanding properties for robotic dispensing
- Extended operating temperature performance
