EMS-Grivory Grivory® XS 1363 Partially Aromatic Nylon, Dry as Molded
Subcategory: Nylon; Thermoplastic; Nylon, Aromatic; Polymer
Material Notes: Grivory XS 1363 is a 50% glass fiber reinforced, partially aromatic nylon. Designed specifically for the aircraft industry. Grivory XS 1363 exhibits good injection moldability and less tool abrasion than other comparably filled nylons. Like most nylons, Grivory XS 1363 has good chemical resistance. Using Grivory XS 1363 instead of aluminum or magnesium offers many advantages; lower weight, corrosion free and little or no finishing (cleaning, machining, deflashing, painting, etc). In addition, tool life span for Grivory is greater than that of a metal die cast tool. These advantages over die cast metals lead to lower production costs, typically between 20 and 50 percent. Grivory XS 1363 is suitable for use in interior aircraft cabin applications. Its high strength and stiffness is virtually unaffected by moisture , this combined with a good surface finish makes it ideal for applications such as: armrests, spreaders, tray brackets, overhead bin brackets, etc. Information provided by EMS-Grivory
