Monmouth Plastic's PO Concentrate 61 is designated to impart good flame retardancy to low and high density polyethylene. Because there are so many varieties of polyethylene, it is difficult to predict the let-down ratio required to meet the specific flammability standards. For starting point formulations we would suggest: 4-7 parts by weight of Low Density Polyethylene-, 5 parts by weight of High Density Polyethylene- to 1 part of Concentrate 61. The resulting composition (s) will generally be V-2 when tested in accordance with the UL 94. The effects on the physicals will be minimal.
