PolyOne® 2153 Black PEC Black Polyethylene
Subcategory: Polyethylene; Additive/Filler for Polymer; Thermoplastic
Material Notes:
This concentrate was developed for blending with polyolefin resins intended for geosynthetic/geotextile applications and for production of HDPE pipe. The base resin was selected for maximum compatibility with a broad range of polyolefins, including polypropylene. Selection of the carbon black was made on the basis of optimizing dispersion and processibility while achieving good outdoor weathering resistance. On this basis this concentrate has found wide application in thin polyethylene agricultural films, and polypropylene slit film/woven tape products. Description/Features: Applications: Processing Method: - Blown Film
- Cast Film
- Extrusion and Molding
Note: This concentrate has been accepted by NSF and CSA as a component of specific potable water compounds. In order to meet requirements for the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI), the pressure performance of pipe extruded from these blends must be verified. In-plant blending conditions and quality control procedures are important to achieve quality product which will continue to meet these conditions. Information provided by PolyOne Corporation.
