KiON CERASET® POLYSILAZANE 20 Heat and UV Cureable Ceramic Precursor
Subcategory: Thermoset; Polymer
Material Notes: General DescriptionKiON Ceraset Polysilazane 20 is a liquid polymer that is readily thermoset to a solid by heating to 180-200°C. Cure can be effected at lower temperatures through the addition of a small quantity of a free radical generator. KiON Ceraset Polysilazane 20 can also be cured at room temperature by exposure to UV radiation in the presence of a UV sensitizer. The resulting solid can then be pyrolyzed to either silicon carbide or silicon nitride-containing ceramics by heating to 1,000°C. KiON Ceraset Polysilazane 20 has a higher ceramic yield than KiON Ceraset Polyureasilazane due to the elimination of low molecular weight Polysilazane components. Applications Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC’s), Metal Matrix Composites (MMC’s), Ceramic MEMS, Ceramic Joining, SiC/Si3N4 coatings for C/C composites and ceramic nanocomposites.
