KiON CERASET® POLYUREASILIZANE Heat and UV Cureable Ceramic Precursor
Subcategory: Thermoset; Polymer
Material Notes: General DescriptionKiON Ceraset Polyureasilazane is a liquid polymer that is readily thermoset to a solid by heating to 180-200°C. Cure can be effected at lower temperatures through the addition of a small quantity of a free radical generator. KiON Ceraset Polyureasilazane can also be cured at room temperature by exposure to UV radiation in the presence of a UV sensitizer. The resulting solid can then be pyrolyzed to silicon carbide or silicon nitride-containing ceramics by heating to temperature > 1,000°C. Applications Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC’s), Metal Matrix Composites (MMC’s), Ceramic MEMS, Ceramic Joining, SiC/Si3N4 coatings for C/C composites and SiC/Si3N4 ceramic nanocomposites.
