KiON HTA 1500 SLOW CURE Ambient-Curable, High Temperature Coating Resin
Subcategory: Thermoset; Polymer
Material Notes: General DescriptionKiON HTA 1500 Slow Cure is a clear, colorless, low viscosity liquid polysiloxazane coating resin that is specially designed for use in the formulation of ambient-curable coatings capable of withstanding operating temperatures of 1500 ºF or above. KiON HTA 1500 Slow Cure is supplied as a 100% “solids” liquid of low viscosity. After application, a coating prepared using KiON HTA 1500 Slow Cure will be dry-to-touch within 1 hour, and will be ready-for-use after 1 day. KiON HTA 1500 Slow Cure can be blended with a variety of pigments, such as metal powders (zinc, aluminum, stainless steel), ceramic powders (silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, silicon nitride), or the like. Such compositions can be formulated with or without solvent and can be applied by dipping, spraying, or brushing onto a variety of substrates – metal, glass, ceramic, polymeric. For ultra-high temperature formulations, the coated part is then heated to at least 850 ºF to promote conversion of the polymer to ceramic. Depending on the exact formulation, coating operating temperatures of 1500 ºF or above can be achieved.
