KiON SEMI-PERMANENT MOLD RELEASE BASE RESIN Polysilazane Mold Release Base Resin
Subcategory: Thermoset
Material Notes: General DescriptionKiON Semi-Permanent Mold Release Base Resin is a specially prepared liquid siloxazane polymer which provides excellent adhesion to mold surfaces when applied at low concentrations (1.5-3.0 wt%) from an organic or volatile siloxane solvent and outstanding release characteristics in repeated molding operations. It is typically applied to a non-porous mold surface (aluminum, kirksite, epoxy, steel) as a very thin (2-3 micron), clear, colorless coating which allows for multiple molding cycles of plastic resins with retention of good release characteristics of the cured part. Molds can thus be used repeatedly without additional mold release applications. Applications Suggested major applications include semi-permanent mold release for metal and polymer composite molds and moldings of unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy-on-epoxy, etc. Information provided by KiON Corporation
