Kydex® IM62 Acrylic/PVC injection Molding Compound
Subcategory: Vinyl; Acrylic; Thermoplastic
Key Words: Polyvinylchloride; PMMA; Polymethylmethacrylate
Material Notes: High impact injection molding compound Applications: Appliances, office equipment, electrical products, tools, medical equipment, computer equipment Features: IM62 has a Notched Izod impact resistance of 960 MPa making it extremely resistant to cracking and abuse. Parts made with IM62 are very resistant to harsh chemicals, solvents and to cleaning agents. IM62 offers flammability resistance. It is UL recognized: UL Std 94 V-0 and 5VA. It has excellent indoor UV color stability. It has good outdoor weatherability. It can be used for difficult parts. Passes FAR 25.853a. Processing: Drying is not typically required, however, if drying is needed dry at 55° for 4 hours. Barrel temperatures are typically 157 and196°C. Mold temperature should be between 32 and 60°C. Minimize the residence time in the barrel and keep melt temperatures between 196 and 207°C. To achieve a homogeneous melt, keep sufficient back pressure .7-2.8 N/mm^2. Before shutdown purge thoroughly and neutralize the mold. Contact Kleerdex Company for more information or refer to the Kydex Injection Molding Guide. Data provided by the Kleerdex Company.
