Kydex® IM84 Injection Molding Compound
Subcategory: Thermoplastic
Material Notes: Clear injection molding compound Applications: Can be used for parts requiring clarity and good chemical resistance Features: IM84 has a light transmittance of 81% at 400 nm and 86% at 700 nm for a .9mm sample. Parts made with IM84 are very resistant to harsh chemicals, solvents and to clearing agents. Processing: Drying is not typically required, however, if drying is needed dry at 55° for 4 hours. Barrel temperatures are typically 157 and196°C. Mold temperature should be between 32 and 60°C. Minimize the residence time in the barrel and keep melt temperatures between 196 and 207°C. To achieve a homogeneous melt, keep sufficient back pressure .7-2.8 N/mm^2. Before shutdown purge thoroughly and neutralize the mold.
