Kydex® IM85 PVC injection Molding Compound
Subcategory: Vinyl; Thermoplastic
Key Words: Polyvinylchloride
Material Notes: Clear injection molding compound with FDA approved raw materials Applications: Kydex IM85 can be used for parts requiring clarity, good chemical resistance, and only FDA approved ingredients. Features: Only 16% Haze Value. Parts made with IM85 are very resistant to harsh chemicals, solvents and to cleaning agents. IM85 has good resistance to impact. Has a Gardner Impact Resistance of 21.8 J/mm. Processing: Drying is not typically required, however, if drying is needed dry at 55° for 4 hours. Barrel temperatures are typically 157 and196°C. Mold temperature should be between 32 and 60°C. Minimize the residence time in the barrel and keep melt temperatures between 196 and 207°C. To achieve a homogeneous melt, keep sufficient back pressure .7-2.8 N/mm^2. Before shutdown purge thoroughly and neutralize the mold.
