Luvocom® 1114-0717 Carbon Fiber and PTFE Filled PAEK
Subcategory: Polyketone; Thermoplastic; Polymer
Material Notes: Description: Luvocom® materials from this product group are not adversely affected by long operating periods at very high temperatures; PPA and PSU can cope with 160 °C, PPS will tolerate over 220 °C and PEEK or PAEK can be used at up to 260 °C. Other exceptional features include: nonburning properties (no addition of flame retarding agents required), low creep, high dimensional stability, sterilisability. Typical applications are for parts subjected to high stresses in car engines or other areas of mechanical engineering and in medical equipment. Processing: Luvocom can generally be processed on commercial injection molding machines, provided that the injection unit has been well designed and common technical rules have been obeyed. Barrels and plasticizing screws should be protected against wear as usual for processing reinforced thermoplastic compounds. Added fibers and fillers could act abrasive. It is urgently advised to pre-dry the pellets with an appropriate dryer just before processing. Information provided by Lehmann & Voss.
