Montell PF716 Polypropylene Homopolymer, High Melt Strength
Subcategory: Polypropylene; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Basell is the successor company to Montell.
Material Notes: Primary Processing Method: Blow Molding/Sheet Extrusion Key Features: high melt strength polypropylene homopolymer for blow molding and sheet extrusion, FDA acceptable, low specific gravity, good moisture barrier properties, good chemical and grease resistance, low odor and taste transfer Applications: thermoformed packaging, blow molded packaging Meets FDA requirements in 21 CFR 177.1520 for all food contact, including cooking applications. Description: Pro-fax PF716 high melt strength polypropylene homopolymer resin, is designed for blow molding and sheet extrusion applications. This resin provides the high melt strength and sheet sag resistance necessary for convenient vacuum forming of large structural parts as well as thin items, such as disposable packaging. This same property also allows good parison formation control during blow molding. This resin imparts a higher service temperature and higher stiffness compared to conventional polypropylene. This resin meets FDA requirements in the Code of Federal Regulations in 21 CFR 177.520 for all food contact, including cooking applications. All ingredients meet the chemical registration requirements of TSCA and DSL. Information provided by Montell Polyolefins.
