Montell Polybutene-1 DP 8510
Subcategory: Polybutene; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Basell is the successor company to Montell.
Material Notes:
Key Features: semi-crystalline high ethylene content random copolymer, miscible with polyproylenes Applications: Hot Melt Adhesives, FDA acceptable Meets FDA requirements in 21 CFR 175.105 for indirect food contact. Description: Polybutene-1 DP 8510 is a semi-crystalline high ethylene content random copolymer which is miscible with polypropylenes due to its similar molecular structure. In blends with polyethylenes it is immiscible but easily dispersible. It is mainly used in Hot Melt Adhesives where a higher viscosity level and high SAFT are required. This grade is compatible with a wide variety of non-polar resins and waxes. This resin meets FDA requirements for direct food contact at temperatures up to 100°C under regulation 21 CFR 177.105.
