Custom Resins Nylene® 474 Nylon 6
Subcategory: Nylon; Thermoplastic; Nylon 6
Close Analogs: Data provided by the manufacturer
Key Words: Polyamide 6
Material Notes: Dry as molded. Nylene 474, for rotational molding, is offered in small pellet form which helps overcome the moisture problems associated with powdered nylons. All Custom Resins nylons are dried to
less than 0.1% moisture eliminating the need for predrying of virgin material. Nylene 474 is
molded with wall thicknesses ranging from 1/16" to greater than 1". Rotational molding of
Nylene 474 is processed in ovens heated to 575 - 700ºF. Temperatures below 700ºF are
preferred. We strongly recommend the use of inert gases such as nitrogen in the mold to
prevent thermal degradation of the nylon.
