NOVA Chemicals Arcel 310 B 65% PS/35% PE Blue Interpolymer
Subcategory: Polystyrene; Polyethylene; Thermoplastic
Close Analogs: Arcel 310 has been discontinued. Arcel 730 is the replacement.
Material Notes:
Applications: Resilient/reusable packaging, Sports items, Dunnage Expansion: Minimum Density Potential (pcf): Single pass continuous - 1.35; Double Pass continuous - 1.0; Batch expansion - 1.2 Prepuff Flow Characteristics: Freshly expanded low density Arcel is sensitive to thermal and mechanical shock. Care must be taken to prevent particle densification. Expected Federates (pph): Singe pass continuous - 400-600; Double pass continuous- 400-600; Batch expansion - 400-600 Bead Size: Spherized pellet 2X A Size Molding: Part/tooling design and fill gun placement that accommodate the large particles should be priorities. Cycles: Typically 1 1/2 times an EPS cycle at equivalent density. Steaming cycle is longer than EPS but similar pressure. Arcel is shipped refrigerated and should remain below 40°F until processed.
