Petromont HDPE DGDP-2485
Subcategory: Polyethylene; Thermoplastic; HDPE; Polymer
Key Words: Pressure pipe, potable water pipe & fittings
Material Notes: Pétromont® DGDP-2485 Natural is a high density polyethylene copolymer produced using the UNIPOL® process technology. DGDP-2485 is a high performance resin with very high melt strength, excellent stress cracking resistance and toughness, and good long-term hoop strength. This product is specifically designed for the extrusion of potable water, industrial, mining, and fuel gas pipe.DGDP-2485 Natural is classified under ASTM D 3350 as Grade PE-345464A. This gives it the material designation code of PE 3608. This resin, when properly extruded with the appropriate level of carbon black masterbatch 0093 Black(1) (6.5% by weight) is called DGDP-2485 Black 3408. Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) has listed DGDP-2485 Black as a PE-3608 plastic piping material with Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB) of 1600 psi for water at 23°C (73°F) and HDB of 800 psi for water at 60°C (140°F). DGDP-2485 Black meets CSA International Water Pressure Services Standard B137.1 and Gas Services Standard B137.4 as a PE-3408 material. It also meets National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standards 14 and 61 for potable water pipe and fitting systems.
