Precision Polymer Engineering J70M Butyl Rubber
Subcategory: Elastomer, TS; Thermoset
Material Notes: Bromobutyl Rubber, 65-75 IRHD. Brominated isobutylene-isoprene copolymer. To meet BS3227 Grade 70 and ASTM D2000 line call-out MBA708, F17.Applications: Bromobutyl is resistant to the same fluids as Ethylene Propylene (EPDM). It has excellent resistance to gas permeation. Except for its gas permeation resistance, Butyl is considered to be inferior to EPDM for O-Ring service.
