Precision Polymer Engineering J80P Butyl Rubber
Subcategory: Elastomer, TS; Thermoset
Material Notes: Phenolic/Resin cured Butyl Rubber, 75-85 IRHD. Isobutylene-Isoprene Rubber.Applications: Butyl is resistant to the same fluids as Ethylene Propylene (EPDM). It has excellent resistance to gas permeation and is especially effective in vacuum applications. Butyl offers good resistance to weathering and ozone but is poor against hydrocarbon based oils and greases. Except for gas permeation resistance, Butyl has been superseded by EPDM.
