Precision Polymer Engineering V97D Fluoroelastomer Compound
Subcategory: Fluoropolymer, TS; Elastomer, TS; Thermoset
Material Notes: Fluoroelastomer Rubber, 92-98 °IRHD. Terpolymer of vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene. Tested at the Shell Thornton Research Centre, where it has shown excellent resistance to explosive decompression (ED) under a known range of conditions. ASTM designation = FKM. ISO designation = FPM.Applications: Approved and specified by Shell for use in applications where ED conditions exist. ED occurs when low molecular weight gas atmospheres are reduced from high to low pressure in a short period of time.
