Chevron MC6800 Rubber Modified Polystyrene
Subcategory: Polystyrene; Thermoplastic
Key Words: PS
Material Notes: Description Chevron MC6800 is a high impact injection molding grade polystyrene resin with a unique balance of flow, toughness and heat distortion temperature properties. This combination of properties allows it to be molded at fast cycles into products that offer impressive performance properties, particularly in heat distortion temperature and practical toughness tests. Chevron MC6800 natural complies with Food Additive Regulation 21CFR177.1640 for polystyrene and rubber modified polystyrene, which states that such materials may be safely used in contact with foods. Applications Chevron MC6800 is suggested for applications requiring good flow and set-up characteristics (such as thin-walled containers and refrigerator breaker strips), good dimensional stability and resistance to shock (such as toys) and good practical toughness (such as furniture components).Information provided by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company.
