Chevron MC9540 Rubber Modified Polystyrene
Subcategory: Polystyrene; Thermoplastic
Key Words: PS
Material Notes: Description Chevron MC9540 is a high heat, medium impact polystyrene injection molding material with a built-in mold release. The excellent slip characteristics of MC9540 were obtained by the use of non-silicone additives. Accordingly, the resin is paintable and can be hot stamped. Chevron MC9540 natural complies with Food Additive Regulation 21CFR177.1640 for polystyrene and rubber modified polystyrene, which states that such materials may be safely used in contact with foods. Applications Chevron 9540 is recommended for use in cassette housings, closures and other applications requiring rigidity, heat resistance and excellent stability.Information provided by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company.
