Shakespeare AquaBatt ™ Staple fiber, denier 16
Subcategory: Thermoplastic
Material Notes: AquaBatt™ is a uniquely designed fiber with deep grooves or channels along its longitudinal axis. These grooves provide unique features to the fiber that can serve as ducts to move fluid spontaneously. Additionally, this unique cross section provides 2.3 to 2.8 times greater surface area when compared to the same denier of traditional round fiber. These features combine to provide enhanced wicking action. The result is a press felt that will absorb water and transport it away from the paper sheet thus improving the dewatering performance, decreasing energy cost, and increasing machine efficiency.
