Fortiflex® HDPE K44-06-122
Subcategory: Polyethylene; Thermoplastic; HDPE
Close Analogs: Innovene is a wholly owned subsidiary of BP Group.
Material Notes: Description: Fortiflex® HDPE K44-06-122 is a natural high density polyethylene copolymer designed specifically for extrusion of potable water, industrial, and mining pipe. It is recognized by the Plastic Pipe Institute as having a pipe material designation code of PE 3408, NSF Standard 14 certification, and compiles with ANSI/NSF Standard 61 health effects requirements. A pressure rated formulation is produced when this product is extruded in combination with a BP Solvay Polyethylene approved black masterbatch. The resulting formulation known as K44-06-123 has NSF Standard 14 certification and complies with ANSI/NSF Standard 61 health effects requirements, is certified to CSA Standard B137.1-99 and B137.4-99, and is listed with the Plastic Pipe Institute as a PE3408. The hydrostatic design basis is 1600 psi at 23°C or 1000 psi at 60°C, based on ASTM test number D 2837. According to ASTM F 1473, the notch tensile (PENT) is greater than 100 hours. Also, the cell classification is 345464A (ASTM D3350).
