Manufacturing process: Norslide® is high quality sliding tubing made by the paste extrusion method out of PTFE. An emulsion of virgin or filled PTFE fine powder and lubricants is compressed into blanks. These blanks are processed in a paste extruder where they pass a tool which forms the required tubing section. The tubing is then sintered at approximately 350°C to give Norslide® its final strength. Norslide® Compounds: The addition of Saint Gobain Performance Plastic's in-house developed compounds can improve upon the inherent properties of PTFE, particularly its abrasion resistance and specific compression load. The ultimate degree of material alteration will always depend on the application. Applications: Control and selector cables, Accelerator, clutch and brake cables, Parking brake cables, Mirror and air conditioning adjustment, Heating control cables, Hood release cables.
