VTC Mediprene™ 660440M TPE, Medical Applications, 44A Hardness
Subcategory: Elastomer, TPE; Thermoplastic
Material Notes: All Mediprene™ compounds are designed and manufactured for use in medical and pharmaceutical applications. In both medical and food contact areas, high application demands are found, such as:- Low extractable
- No migration of plasticizer
- Cleanliness
- Good vapor and gas transmission properties
- Softness, flexibility and clarity
- Chemical inertness
- Ease of sterilization for repeated use
Mediprene™ compounds can be processed using conventional thermoplastic equipment for extrusion, injection molding, etc. The compounds are not hygroscopic, and thus do not need any pre-drying. Assembling Mediprene™ to mainly all used thermoplastics is feasible. All Mediprene™ grades are fully recyclable and where possible reprocessable during manufacturing and when burned do not emit toxic fumes. Mediprene™ grades exhibit excellent resistance to many fluids used in the healthcare environment. Information from Vita Thermoplastic Polymers (VTP).
