Blue River Coatings Low VOC Primer Sealer
Subcategory: Thermoset; Polymer
Material Notes: BLUE RIVER COATINGS LOW VOC PRIMER SEALER is a high quality, single component primer. Performance obtained is equal or superior to that of single component solvent primers. LOW VOC PRIMER SEALER offers good coverage, excellent durability, and ease of application, as well as being a low VOC and EPA compliant coating. Enviromental Advantages:BLUE RIVER COATINGS LOW VOC PRIMER SEALER is a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound), high performance production coating. It is considered non-hazardous by EPA definitions and does not contain lead or chromates. The solid and semi-solid sludge produced in spraying and clean up can be flocculated; dried and sent to a “Class B” landfill. Check with local and state regulations for proper handling. Characteristics: Excellent exterior durabilityExcellent hardness/impact resistanceExcellent mar and abrasion resistanceExcellent adhesion on plastics and gel coat substratesSolvent resistantCan be applied in a wide variety of temperature and humidity conditions without the use of retardersDistilled water is used for reductionWater is used for clean-upNon-HazardousAir dry or force curing preferredCan be oven bakedWide range of colorsCoating will not flash rust on bare metalShelf life of 1 yearUnused paint can be returned to containerNon-FlammableUses SteelMetal Corrosion Resistance – ASTM B117, Good corrosion resistance – Pass at 450 hours. Coating was applied at 1 mil dry and allowed to cure for 15 days at ambient temperatures. Additional corrosion resistance can be achieved when the coated is applied with a higher film build. 1 mil dry – Pass 250-300 hours2 mil dry – Pass 450 hours4 mils dry – Pass 600 hours6+ mils dry – Pass 750 hoursExterior Exposure Test – Coating was applied to steel panel at 1 mil dry and allowed to cure for 15 days at ambient temperatures. Panel was positioned for southern exposure for an indefinite amount of time. After 24 months exposure, panel does not exhibit any blistering, cracking, spot rusting or delamination of film.
