Material Notes: FeaturesChevron Gas Engine Oil 940 is a medium ash, intermediate base number, dispersant/detergent type engine oil. It is manufactured using highly refined paraffinic base oils and an additive package containing ashless dispersant, oxidation inhibitors, metallic detergents, and a metallic antiwear agent. Applications Chevron Gas Engine Oil 940 is recommended: - primarily for turbocharged four-stroke stationary gas engines where medium ash levels (.8-1.2%) are preferred for improved valve recession control
- where higher base number oils are needed to control the corrosive effect of fuels containing elevated levels of sulfur.
- for superior engines and selected Waukesha leanburn engines.
Chevron Gas Engine Oil 940 is formulated to meet the performance requirements of API Sevice Category CF.
