Conoco Syncon® Synthetic R&O Oil 68
Subcategory: Fluid; Lubricant
Material Notes: Description: Conoco Syncon Synthetic R&O Oil is a synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) lubricant that satisfies the lubrication requirements of most compressors in service today. It is recommended for rotary-vane, rotary-lobe and screw compressors that require exceptional performance at both normal and extreme temperatures. In lower viscosity grades, it is suited for hydraulic systems, pump bearings, electric motors and turbines. In higher viscosity grades, it is ideal for industrial gear drives that call for a rust- and oxidation-inhibited gear lubricant. Syncon Synthetic R&O Oil is available in six ISO viscosity grades: 32, 46, 68, 100, 220 and 460. ISO grade 32 meets the requirements of Solar Turbines Specification ES9-224 Synthesized Hydrocarbon and Allison Gas Turbines Specification EMS-45. ISO grades 32, 46 and 68 are suited for use in circulating-oil systems and oil-flooded rotary-vane, rotary-lobe and screw compressors operating with discharge temperatures up to 250°F. ISO grades 68, 100, 220 and 460 (AGMA grades 2, 3, 5 and 7) are suited for industrial gear drives that operate at extreme temperatures. These drives can be steel-on-steel (spur, helical, herringbone and bevel gears) or bronze-on-steel. They are not intended for applications that require extreme-pressure (EP) additives, such as in spiral-bevel or hypoid-gear drives. They are also suited for paper-machine drier bearings, calender stacks, winders and large antifriction and journal bearings. Information provided by ConocoPhillips.
